Walt Disney (1901–1966) was an American animator, film producer, and entrepreneur whose influence on entertainment and popular culture continues to this day. Born in Chicago, Disney developed an early talent for art and began working as a commercial illustrator as a teenager. After serving as an ambulance driver in World War I, he and his brother Roy co-founded an animation studio in California.
