Kevin Costner Was Actually Written Into Air Force One

Fact: Kevin Costner Air Force One 1997 was the original cast actor for the part. He was written into the script but was unable to shoot the mega-blockbuster film due to filming conflicts.

Kevin Costner is an American actor who has played in various cult classic movies. Some of the movies with Kevin Costner are The Untouchables, baseball movies such as Field of Dreams, a movie western Dances with Wolves, a historical film JFK, and many more. Originally, Costner was in marketing after graduating with a degree in business in 1978. After flying back from Mexico and meeting Richard Burton, he completely went into acting because it was something he really wanted to do.

He quit his job and moved out to Hollywood where he drove trucks, worked on deep sea fishing boats, gave bus tours to stars homes, and even making a soft-core sex film while attending acting school Los Angeles. He vowed to not work again if that was the only type of work he was going to get. He didn’t work for nearly six years until his big break in The Big Chill (1983).

As Costner became a recognizable force, he had a chance to star in the mega-blockbuster Air Force One (1997). The script was written specifically for him in mind. Due to constraints on the film The Postman (1997), he was forced to pass on the opportunity. Instead, he called up Harrison Ford personally and offered Harrison a once-in-a-lifetime role. Well, the rest is history as Air Force One (1997) went on to be one of the highest grossing films of all time.

Harrison Ford still thanks Kevin Costner films any time he is asked about that movie.
