Fact: The Blacklist, is an NBC psychological thriller. The Blacklist James Spader is an obsessive-compulsive-perfectionist who was responsible for majorly revised schedules and rewrites of complete scenes.
When asked what about his character attracted Spader, he replied, “He amused me.”
Anyone the least familiar with Spader knows about his idiosyncrasies. Apparently Jon Bokencamp, executive producer, was unaware of Spader’s compulsiveness to tweak every nuance of the script. He said they talked for hours every day, including Spader’s birthday and Thanksgiving.
“The conversations can be frustrating,” Bokencamp said.
